Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/740 – Toy Safety Standards

The Official Journal of the European Union has published Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/740.

The Official Journal of the European Union has published Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/740, which amends Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/740 as regards harmonised standards for olfactory board games, cosmetic kits and gustatory games, as well as the migration of certain elements from toys.

The decision updates and consolidates references to European standards that provide a presumption of conformity with the essential safety requirements set out in the directive, contributing to a consistent technical framework for toys placed on the EU market.

Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/740 remains applicable under the current legal framework and continues to be relevant during the transition period leading to the full application of Regulation (EU) 2025/2509.

MTIC InterCert follows regulatory and standardisation developments related to toy safety legislation and the publication of harmonised standards.

Further updates will be shared as new standards and official references become available.
