CE Mark for steel or aluminum structural components | EN 1090-1

On 9 March 2011, the European Parliament and the Council issued a Regulation setting out the conditions for the marketing of construction products. This Regulation is fully applicable from 1 July 2013 and repeals European Directive 89/106/EEC.

The standard regulates the conditions for the placing or making available on the market of construction products and lays down:

  • Harmonised requirements for the description of the performance of such products according to their essential characteristics and for the use of the CE marking on the products concerned;

  • The manufacturer's obligation to draw up a Declaration of Performance (DoP) to be attached to any product within the scope of the Regulation, an indication that it did not exist in the previous European Directive 89/106/EEC;

  • 5 Sistemi di valutazione e verifica della costanza della prestazione: 1+, 1, 2+, 3 e 4;

The applicable system is indicated in the harmonised technical standards according to the type of product, the complexity and the intended use; for example: reactions to fire, load-bearing structures for civil constructions, etc.

With the certification of an independent third party body, the company provides credibility of the commitments undertaken with its customers and stakeholders.
